How To Apply For Florida Homestead Exemption

One of the benefits to having a primary residence in Lee County is that you can apply for tax break called Homestead Exemption.

You will want to apply for this ASAP. This must be done by March 1st. DO NOT WAIT!

The Homestead Exemption will give you $50,000 off the assessed value of your house.

This is a huge savings that you need to take advantage of it.

There are other exemptions as well, and I advise you to review the Lee County Property Appraisers website to see if you qualify for any.

If you previously owned a house that was Homesteaded then you will want to take advantage of the Homestead Portability of your previous house. This will be more savings to you.
