KEVIN OFFERMAN OF CITY TAVERN

Our special guest for the 11th episode of Rates and Reels is Fort Myers native and long time owner of City Tavern, Kevin Offerman. City Tavern is one of the most popular bars in downtown Ft Myers. Kevin has been a friend of mine for a long time so I was super excited to go fishing with him.

Kevin took us fishing in his decked out boat and brought along his friend and Captain Kerry Trotter. Captain Kerry killed it all day!

This day started at 4:30 in the morning so it was a long one but worth it! We went out 80 miles into the Gulf of Mexico to fish for Grouper, Amberjack, African Pompano a few other surprises.

Here are a few highlights:

• Chef Brian Duffy filmed and episode of Rates and Grills where he cooked up the Snapper and Grouper we caught. That was one of the coolest things I have done since starting Rates and Reels.
• Caught an Amberjack that had to be four foot long
• Huge Grouper and the largest Mangrove Snapper I have ever caught
• Had an Amberjack bit in half by a bull shark and so much more!
