I wish the days of a handshake deal came back but that is not happening any time soon.
Same with walking into your bank of 30 years and them giving you whatever loan you needed. Those days are long gone and documentation is required. Let's be real we don't want to ask you for a million documents, BUT we do want to make your loan approval as smooth and secure as we can, so if we need it, were going to ask you for it.
When you apply for a mortgage you are going to want to be ready to provide documentation on everything involving your current income, assets, real estate and debt. Probably going to find more to ask for as well.
