Occupation Movie Review | Netflix Occupation | Tim Hart

This review has spoilers in it because I honestly don’t feel like writing around them and you should never watch the movie anyways. “Occupation” is on Netflix and sounds like an awesome movie. This town in Australia (I think) gets invaded by an entire alien race and the humans fight back. My kind of movie!!!

I’ll be blunt. This movie sucked. I only finished it because I was committed and love sci fi alien movies. My Dad didn’t raise a quitter unless it had anything to do with diets.

I think they were trying to make Red Dawn with the aliens in place of the Russians. The only problem is that Patrick Swayze wasn’t showing up to save the humans or this movie.

Most of the main characters die throughout the movie and you don’t even care because you really don’t know who they are. Example, during the entire movie some lady managed to get pregnant and die while giving child birth and I didn’t even feel bad. The kids Dad was some angry rugby player who kept leaving her the entire movie. His only redemption was that he managed to kill himself while blowing up an alien spaceship.

There were so many odd parts of stories that were never explained. The aliens literally had human slaves working in the fields planting crops. Maybe aliens like vegetables. It would have been nice to know. What were they growing? Why were they growing it? Maybe they explain that in the sequel. Occupation 2: The Salad

If I’m being honest, I already forgot how the humans won their final battle against the aliens but I do remember that at the end the humans decided to live peacefully with the remaining aliens. There seemed to be a faction of the aliens that were actually nice but it was never really told in the story. Like I said in the beginning, the movie sucked.

I give it a 520 credit score.

P.S. It was two hours long!!! You guys owe me for saving you from this one.
