Over the weekend I watched “The Man Who Killed Hitler and Then The Bigfoot” starring Sam Elliot. Before I get into the movie I need to let you know something right off the top. My Mom had the biggest crush of all time for Sam Elliott when we were kids. Probably still does to this day! Gruf voice and muskrat size moustache had my Mom all types of in love! Oddly enough, I never hated Sam Elliot for it. Probably the same way my kids will never hate Thor’s Chris Hemsworth. My wife loves him and my kids know it. Nothing I can do about it either. Thor is one handsome fella and so is Sam. Moving on.
How did I end up watching this movie? Good question. Joe Rogan said on his podcast that the movie was a “very cool movie”, it had my Mom’s man crush Sam Elliot playing the lead role AND Bigfoot was in the title….. I’m in!
Some of you may shake your head at the title of this movie but I could not wait to watch it. Love Bigfoot! Before I watched it, in my mind the title made it seem like it should be two movies. First movie would be Sam killing Hitler and Part 2 is him killing Bigfoot. That just seems like a lot of action to pack into a 98 minute movie and I was excited to see them try. I really wanted to love this movie. I wanted to come on here and type that it was the greatest movie of all time…….It was not. I found it kind of boring until the end.
The ending was worth the whole watch in my mind but feel free to fast forward to the end and watch Sam Elliot fight the Bigfoot. He is like 80 years old in this movie and takes on a Bigfoot in a death match. It is 5 minutes of fantastic action. The entire time you are thinking “Am I really watching Sam Elliot fight the Bigfoot?” Yes. Yes you are!
Side note. I watched this on Hulu and I think you have to pay for it at the other sites. If you don’t have Hulu, just borrow someone’s password like the rest of America does.
