Are you looking to become a Loan Officer? Maybe interested in exploring a new a career.

Check out this video we did with Aaron Wilson with My Mortgage Trainer. My Mortgage Trainer is who my company recommends for the 20 hour course to prepare for the MLO test.

Becoming an MLO can be a great and very lucrative career and really can be whatever you make of it!

Aaron and I discuss what steps you need to take to get into the business and we also spend time talking about what it takes to succeed. Lots of pointers given in the 2nd half of the video.

Aaron also explains his networking group opportunity called Cheddar stacks. This is something he freely gives to his student and will also help your mortgage business if you decide to make the plunge.

Here is what we typically send over to LOs that are not licensed to help them get started.

Listed below is the breakdown of getting licensed in FL.

1. Create a NMLS account

2. Give VanDyk access to your NMLS (2nd attachment instructions – our NMLS ID is 3035 and we are on the state side of the NMLS)

3. Complete the SAFE 20 (through My Mortgage Trainer)

4. Take and pass the National with UST Test

5. Complete the FL PE course (through My Mortgage Trainer)

6. Submit the FL LO License request MU4 in your NMLS (make sure to upload a document in the document uploads with your NMLS, Name, Name of High School, and Date of HS Diploma or its equivalent)

7. Get Fingerprinted

8. Wait for the state to approve your license (typically takes 30 days)
