Written by Tim Hart | Dec 18, 2019 9:27:00 PM

Our very own Cape Coral Police Department K-9 Officers will be competing in the 3rd Annual Florida Gulf Coast Police K-9 Competition on 1/4/2020 at Island Coast High School from 11:00am to 5:00pm.

The event, held from 11am-5pm on Saturday, January 4, will include a Police K-9 Obstacle Course, Hardest Hitting Dog Competition, Fastest Dog Competition, K-9 / S.W.A.T. Demo & Display, Vendor Expo / Family Activities, a food truck rally and more!

Listen in as we talk to Officer Stephen Scrobe and Officer Jason Matyas about the competition, and their job of training these dogs to protect us and compete.

Keep an eye out for Officer Michael Hollow making a guest appearance training his dog.

There is also a civilian category that should be very cool to watch. Dakota Lynn Means was kind enough to let us know what she enjoyed about dog training, and the upcoming competition.

For details on the competition, please contact Officer Stephen Scrobe at sscrobe@capecoral.net.

Come on out and support these dogs and our police force. Should be a great time!
