I love sci-fi and have been wanting to watch Annihilation since I first saw the previews. These type of movies are hard for me to be able to watch. It was rated R which removes all my kids from watching it with me and my wife hates sci-fi. So with my wife and kids being out of town, it was the perfect night to rent that movie. A long time ago, with my family out of town I would be partying somewhere with my buddies at The Buddha but now I work until 7:00pm, get take out from Smoke ‘n’ Pit and hit the RedBox. What the hell happened to me?
Anyways.
I heard mixed reviews about this movie but have to admit that I really liked it. I don’t know if I really understood what happened at the end but I don’t really care. Everything in the middle was awesome and right up my alley. The cast was great and it took me about an hour to figure out the male lead was Poe Dameron from Star Wars.
They also did a great job of creating the world within ‘The Shimmer”. The plants, animals and scenery were all on point.
All in all, a great sci-fi movie and if you like sci-fi, then you should like this movie.
P.S. I missed my family after one night.
